The electricity distribution industry in the U.K. was denationalised over four years ago. Since that time the newly formed companies have, more than ever, made strenuous efforts to demonstrate and improve the cost-effectiveness of their operations. Maintaining the working state of its widely spread electricity distribution networks remains one of their greatest financial responsibilities. A recently developed spreadsheet-based package offers the prospect of significant savings on equipment replacement.
