Widespread use of microcomputers with the latest project management systems offers a new horizon whose starting point may be located in the 1990s. Therefore an evaluation of software is needed. Here is presented a comparative study of a representative sample of packages: CA-Superproject, Instaplan, Micro Planner, Microsoft Project and Project Scheduler, through the evaluation of quality features such as user-friendliness, documentation, resource allocation. A discussion of the performance of this kind of software is included.
