Abstract:

This note discusses the readiness issue pertaining to the Canadian Air Reserves. Factors affecting the reservists’ level of preparedness and/or readiness are examined. Under the hypothesis that reservists do not train as much as their active counterparts, the feasibility of using learning theory to estimate the cushion of time for the reserves to complete mobilization and training to be ready for deployment is explored.
