In this paper, the authors describe a technique based on linear programming, which is aimed at appropriately weighting the various criteria involved in the decision process of an expert vehicle dispatcher. They introduce in particular an incremental weighting learning scheme that allows a computer system to dynamically adjust to the dispatcher's decision process as new demands come in and new decisions are taken. Results in various dispatching contexts are reported.
