In this paper an analysis of the automatic control market in Chile is presented. This analysis consists of studies performed during 1989, based on interviews applied to a representative sample of the firms that offer automatic control technology in Santiago (Chile), as well as to a representative sample of firms that use this technology. A variety of experts, that have experience in the sector, were also interviewed. The objective of this study was to promote the use of automatic control technology in Chilean productive firms, to help them become more competitive.
