This paper presents an administrative and computational system developed for forestry firms that helps plan the daily dispatching of trucks between origins and destinations of wood. Dispatching trucks is a complex combinatorial problem and it is not trivial to find efficient solutions. The computational system is based on a simulation model with heuristic rules for the assignment of trucks. The input for the system is the list of different products to transport daily from the different origins, demands in the destinations, available fleet of trucks and cranes, and relevant costs and constraints. The output consists of the daily dispatching of trucks that minimizes costs
