A decision support system for production planning in an industrial unit

This paper describes a DSS designed to support production planning in an industrial unit producing lubricants. Some background information is provided and methodological issues related to decision support in this context are discussed. A general overview of the functions performed by the DSS in medium and short term planning is presented, followed by a description of the user interface and model base. Concluding remarks are presented herein.
