Abstract:

A simulation model is described meant to reflect the recovery from B cell and T helper cell tolerance. This model was also used to estimate the role of participation of short- and long-lived lymphocytes in the recovery from tolerance. The paper reviews recent applications of the model (immunoglobulin suppression, polyclonal tolerence) and its extension to feedback structures. The variant of the model with feedback structure was also used in the two-compartment theoretical description of dynamics of lymphocyte depletion in the case of HIV infection.
