A decision-support modeling system for minimization of logistic support cost

This article is a discussion of a flexible, easy-to-use modeling system to minimize the overall lgositic support cost subject to meeting all the operational constraints and criticality issues with respect to customers and field replaceable units. The modelling system provides an opportunity to conduct a variety of ‘what-if’ scenario analyses and also to quickly evaluate the joint impacts of several quantitative and qualitative factors on the logistic support cost.
