S curves and completion time of work-pack

After referring to the rotation of levels of planning in project management the article lists the main types of S-curves as described theoretically and employed in practice. An analytical function suitable to represent the advancement of the project at various levels is then suggested and a simple method evaluating the updated completion time of project work-packs is discussed. Finally a numerical example is provided whilst the choice of the most suitable instruments of planning and project control must depend on the actual working contexts.
