A constructive approach to electric power distribution planning

The paper is concerned with the problem of power distribution planning which remains very complex. In the last two decades, this problem was investigated by several authors. Most of the methods proposed lead to important restrictions (mode simplification) when applied to networks of large size. The paper suggests a constructive approach to solve such a problem. First, a feeder network is built with the constraints of the demand in all load locations satisfied and where the substation capacity is not exceeded. Then specified are the type and the period of installation of substation transformers, the right type feeder for each connection and its installation of substations transformers, the right type of feeder for each connection and its installation period and finally the location of the voltage regulators and their installation period.
