Abstract:

Queueing network models have proved to be very efficient tools for performance evaluation of Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS). In this work, closed queueing networks with a central server configuration and finite queue capacities are used to model FMS with limited local buffers. Under the assumption of exponential service time distribution, an exact numerical algorithm is developed for the performance analysis of FMS, based on Buzen’s convolution method.
