There is evidence of widespread interest on the part of industrial corporations to develop knowledge based systems for corporate financial applications. This paper describes a successful dedicated shell developed for designing expert support systems for the corporate credit granting process. The shell represents an elegant implementation of knowledge representation in relational databases.
