The goal of this work is to define a simple and concise language which can process the most usual requests to a relational database. To achieve this goal the ICOBASE interface performs an intelligent translation based on semantic knowledge of the content and the structure of the data base. This knowledge counterbalances the lack of expressiveness of the ICOBASE language which is extremely simple.
