Abstract:

In this paper, we derive a posteriori error estimates for the hp finite element approximation of the distributed convex optimal control problems governed by nonlinear elliptic equations. We obtain hp‐a posteriori error estimators for both the state and the control approximation. These estimates can be used to construct reliable adaptive finite element approximation for the control problems.
