A model for setting inventory target levels for constrained production is proposed. Parameters are estimated directly from the demand data using a single simulation run. The model is highly accurate across a wide range of demand distributions. No user modelling of demand distributions or parameters is required. The new model is easily used by practitioners or implementable in software.
