Abstract:

• This study provides an overview of China's fuel cycle program and its reprocessing policy. • This study suggests strategies for managing its future fuel cycle program. • China will experience no pressure to lessen the burden of spent fuel storage in the next 30 years. • China should maintain sufficient reprocessing operations to meet its demands for R&D activities. • China should actively invest on R&D activities of both fuel cycling and fast reactor programs.
