Abstract:

We introduce a new class of matrices S ( a n , ϕ n ) equ1 and establish a general absolute summability factor theorem by applying a recently defined absolute summability, | A , a n | k equ2 summability, and the class S ( a n , ϕ n ) equ3. As applications of the main result, we further verify that many well‐known classes of matrices such as Cesàro's matrices, Rhaly’s generalized Cesàro matrices, the p equ4‐Cesàro matrices, and Riesz matrices are all in S ( a n , ϕ n ) equ5 for some certain sequences { a n } equ6 and { ϕ n } equ7, and, therefore, many new factor theorems can be obtained under suitable conditions.
