This study gives an overview of the manufacturing industries in northwest Russia that are essentially connected to the Finnish logistics industry and related services. In addition, the paper identifies logistic bottlenecks in the transportation corridor between Southern Finland and northwestern Russia. An expert session in a group support system laboratory was conducted to identify these bottlenecks. The identified bottlenecks were prioritised according to their influence on different transportation modes and industries. As a result of the study, several significant bottlenecks related to the transportation corridor were identified. In addition, it was discovered that the significance of a particular bottleneck is dependent on a certain transportation mode and certain industry. Especially, the Russian bureaucracy and Russian policies of changing laws and regulation in a rapid schedule have a significant effect on all transportation modes and all manufacturing industries.
