Abstract:

The authors give some characterizations of the Lagrangian dual objective function λÅℝrsquo; defined with respect to a coupling function ℝrsquo;, namely, conditions for the existence of a ℝrsquo;, and characterizations when ℝrsquo; is given. In particular, when ℝrsquo; is the so-called ‘natural coupling function’, one of these characterizations can be reduced significantly.
