In the past years there has been a lot of discussion on linking the functions of a company by technology (CIM). This led to companies with a large variety of highly effective and specialized functions. The coordination of these functions causes high costs even when using standard programs for production planning and control. It is shown that the idea of an indivisible production reduces the necessity of coordination.
