Mean value analysis for multiclass closed queueing network models of Flexible Manufacturing Systems with limited buffers

Flexible Manufacturing Systems are modelled as multiple class queueing networks with a central server configuration and finite queue capacities. Under the assumption of exponential service time distribution, an extended Mean Value Analysis algorithm is developed for the exact evaluation of performance measures. The accuracy of the proposed algorithm is established by comparison with the results of simulation experiments.
