Abstract:

This paper makes a preliminary step into the analysis of the determinants of the evolution and selection of voting rules by capturing the intuition of a trade-off between efficiency and information costs. By changing the weight associated with information costs we investigate the performance of voting rules from two major classes of scoring rules.
