A linear goal programming model for bank portfolio management is presented. Its economic content was simplified for purpose of analysis, but it takes into account all main managerial goals and legal requirements as well. Structural features of the model were tested in a range of parameters specific for the current Polish economy. It appears that the model is better than its linear equivalent and may be helpful tool for bank managers. Determination of the objective function is the crucial point of the method.
