Development of a prototype for a geographical information system for addressing the problem of antennas location

This work shows an approach to the antennas location problem, which is common in communication projects using radio systems. This work aims to develop a Geographic Information System prototype to deal in positioning radio transmission towers, which is formulated like a Maximal Set Covering Problem. Initially, basic concepts from antennas and Geographic Information Systems are presented, since they are important to prototype development. Next, the proposed prototype is described and results are presented.
