In 2001, Chang et al. explored the (s, Q) inventory system for fast moving items. They derived an iterative procedure to find the optimal solution. In general, the iterative procedure involves a lot of computations. This article presents an analytic method to simplify the search procedure to find the optimal solution. Numerical examples are also given to illustrate the effectiveness of the solution procedure presented in this article.
