A stochastic scheduling model of a batch processing machine is presented, which is motivated by retailing enterprises (supermarkets, department stores and warehouse stores, etc.) stocking or restocking. Two problems are discussed respectively, deterministic equivalents of them are given, important optimality properties are found, which can be utilized to develop effective algorithms to solve the deterministic equivalents.
