Analysis of inspection error has been and continues to be an important area of research in Statistical Quality Control. While decision parameters for most of the standard sampling plans have been examined in considerable detail, methods that can handle stochastic networks, such as GERT, have not been exploited to the fullest advantage to study inspection systems, influenced by error. In the present paper an attempt has been made in this direction by evaluating a few of the decision parameters for single and double sampling plans. Subtle advantages of using GERT for analysis of such systems have also been briefly outlined.
