Most companies face a site selection problem when undertaking a manufacturing systems software implementation. The site selection model presented here, which is based on weighted qualitative and quantitative factors, was used by three multiplant companies. This approach is a factor evaluation matrix used for determining the readiness of a plant for installation and for assigning an installation sequence. Results are compared with solution using quantitative factors only.
