Abstract:

In the last years have appeared new efficient methods to obtain estimators using auxiliary information in complex surveys. The pseudo empirical likelihood method is the most recent. In this paper, this method defined by Chen and Sitter is described. Furthermore, we show this approach under two points of view, under stratified sampling and show several properties. The real performance of these estimators is evaluated on the basis of data from a real population, using different sampling designs. This simulation study shows that these estimators are very efficient and are a valid option in complex surveys.
