Abstract:

A simulator is a parameter-driven simulation that requires no programming. When appropriate, the simulator models a process quite rapidly. Since the early ’80s, software companies have introduced many simulators for manufacturing; they use parameters to describe the model and allow many features. The authors examined four of the many simulators available, and their features indicate the types of considerations involved in selecting software.
