A new method of improving the consistency of fuzzy judgement matrices based on compatibility

Fuzzy judgement matrix is a kind of important preference information form provided by decision maker. Based on the complementary characteristics of fuzzy judgement matrix, a compatibility index is proposed in this paper. The relations between compatibility and consistency of fuzzy judgement matrices are also studied. Then a deviation matrix is defined which can reflect the difference of fuzzy judgement matrix and its characteristic matrix. A new method of improving the consistency of fuzzy judgement matrices is given. Finally, an example shows the feasibility and effectiveness of this method.
