‘Simple OR’ and ‘appropriate OR’ have been used synonymously for developing countries. This notion, although it is not held by all writers, may be mistaken. A complex Operational Research OR technique may be ‘appropriate OR’, depending on the nature of the problem and its impact on the economy where it is used.
