Abstract:

Proper production scheduling and open pit mining designs are the most important factor for improving productivity. Some mining mathematical models can obtain the optimised production scheduling and the final pit limits as single objective function. In this work, an attempt is made by using the multiple criteria decision-making model and zero–one non-linear goal programing to derive production scheduling as effective ways to achieve higher profits in a pre-assumed time span and under specific economic and technical considerations. Applying simulation methods for constructon of a virtual mine and comparing the obtained results with those of a real open pit (the Jalal-Abad Ironstone mine which was designed using widely known and acceptable mining design software), the proposed model's accuracy is assessed.
