A decision analysis method based on an extension of rough sets is proposed for multi-attribute decision making problems with preferential and incomplete information. First, the concept of extended dominance relation is presented. Then the indiscernibility relation in the original rough sets theory is replaced by the extended dominance relation and the rough approximations of decision classes is obtained. Two equivalent expressions and basic properties of rough approximations are proved and the sorting decision rules are given. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the method are demonstrated by a real example.
