A fuzzy induced ordered weighted averaging (FIOWA) operator is defined, and a fuzzy linguistic scale for the comparison between two alternatives is given. The fuzzy linguistic scale is then utilized to construct a fuzzy linguistic judgement matrix, and a method based on the fuzzy linguistic scale and the FIOWA operator for decision-making problems with a limited set of alternatives is proposed. The method uses the FIOWA operator to aggregate fuzzy preference information, and uses the priority formula of triangular fuzzy numbers to derive the ranking of the alternatives.
