This paper deals with the problem of production control in situations in which several types of products are produced on one machine and in which only the ordered goods can be produced. The demand is stochastic and depends on the average delivery-time. The paper describes two decomposition methods: a method based on queueing theory and a method for discrete demand and discrete service-times. Both methods are compared with a cyclic production strategy.
