Firstly, the method is developed by assumption that the lead time demand follows a normal distribution by maximum entropy principle, then the assumption about the form of the distribution function of lead time demand is relaxed and the problem is solved by applying the min–max distribution free procedure. When the order quantity, setup costs and lead time are considered as decision variables, an algorithm is proposed. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the model and the algorithm. At the same time, the two numerical values are compared.
