Abstract:

This study illustrates the application of fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) to a decision-making problem. AHP is a popular and powerful method for solving Multiple Criteria Decision Making problems. In this paper, the application of Fuzzy AHP to the decision-making problem of selecting a suitable Bank is illustrated. The benefit of AHP is its capability to accommodate subjectivity and inconsistency in human judgements. It can deal with ill-structured and multi-criteria problems without severe complexities. The uncertainty in assigning relative importance to different criteria and attributes leads to the inclusion of fuzzy logic into the structure of the AHP paradigm. One such application is illustrated in the present study.
