The paper reports on the results of a project for evaluating the efficiency of industrial parks in Hungary. The aim of the project was to review how the formal support and the financial subsidy from the Ministry of Economic Affairs had been used. The efficiency of the industrial parks cannot be evaluated from a single aspect but from several ones. A part of these aspects can be considered as inputs and another part as outputs. It was thus an obvious idea to use the methodology of data envelopment analysis (DEA) for this evaluation considering the industrial parks as decision making units (DMU). The paper gives a solid review on the basic models and methodology of DEA, and applies them for evaluating the industrial parks. Computational results and their analysis are also presented.
