T.W. Wall, D. Greening and R.E.D. Woolsey produced a geometric programming based technique for solving the system of nonlinear equations that arise from the kinetic approach to finding the composition of a chemical system at equilibrium. It is argued that one should consider using nonlinear programming to solve these equations. This approach is illustrated by solving the example given by Wall, Greening and Woolsey. A pencil and paper solution to that problem is also given.
