The evaluation of the efficiency of the Tender for Developing the Economy in Hungary (TDEH) regarding the years of 1996, 1997 and 1998 will be presented. The task was completed as a multi-attribute group decision problem, and solved by the software system named WINGDSS 4.1, developed at the Department of Operation Research and Decision Systems, Computer and Automation Institute, Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The results, in harmony with the evaluation principles in the European Union, showed numerically as well for the Division controlling the amount of subsidy at the Ministry how far the result of the subsidy allocated by the budget for 170 candidates between the period 1996 and 1998 met the set economic policy objectives. In accordance with the expectations, also our model-calculations proved that the efficiency interpreted in this sense can be considered as an average, and regarding the facts, 1998 turned out to be the most successful year.
