In order to deal with the consistency problem of judgement matrix in analytic hierarchy process, a new method, named the accelerating genetic algorithm, is presented to compute rank weights and check the consistency of judgement matrix at the same time. The results of theoretical analysis and case study show that the new method is feasible and effective, that its computational results have both stability and high precision, and that it possesses important theoretical meaning and broad application value in different systems for engineering practice.
