The multi-attribute decision making problem, in which the attribute weights were precisely known and the attribute values were given in the form of fuzzy linguistic assessments, was studied. A scale of the fuzzy linguistic assessments was defined and its corresponding representation of interval numbers was given. The fuzzy linguistic assessment information about each alternative was aggregated by utilizing the interval arithmetic. Based on the possibility degree formula for comparison between two interval numbers, the complementary judgement matrix is established and its priority vector is derived by using the given priority formula, and then the alternatives are ranked by using the vector. Finally, an illustrative example was given. Numerical results show that this approach is feasible and effective.
