Optimal replacement policies in burn-in process for an alternative repair model

In this paper, an attempt is made to study an optimal burn-in procedure that includes negligible repair times with probability p and non-negligible repair times with probability 1 − p, which follow a non-decreasing geometric process. Burn-in with some univariate optimal replacement policies and a bivariate optimal replacement policy are discussed. A comparison of replacement policies is also presented.
