Abstract:

The inventory replenishment problem with a linear demand pattern when no shortage is permitted and the time horizon is finite is examined. An explicit inverse method for determining the replenishment time t(i),i = 0,1,2,...,n − 1 is proposed. The method is based on using the inverse of the iterative scheme z(n + 1) = √(3 − (2/z(n))).
