Fourteen software packages are reviewed as stand-alone aids for a first business course in production/operations management. Ease of use, breadth of topic coverage, and effectiveness in addressing homework problems selected from typical textbooks serve as the basis of evaluation. Individual needs and associated text adoptions could easily justify choices significantly different from those suggested.
