Using microcomputer-based MRP software to teach materials management

One of the greatest benefits of using MRP software to teach operations and materials management courses is that students are provided a manufacturing data base for experimentation. MRP-DSS, a system designed by the first author, has been used for materials management courses at CSU/LB for the last 3 years. Students who have taken the course indicate generally enthusiastic acceptance of this approach. (Note: software is available upon request.)
