Interfaces with operational MRP II systems can realise substantial benefits in warehousing management and control. The design, development, programming, and implementation of an inventory planning system is presented which, in coordination with MRP II, provides significant potential for increased stock returns, reduced cash flow, and reduced storage space requirements. A multi-objective ABC class analysis is combined with a method of calculating aggregate stock turns based on the turns of each item class.
