Abstract:

Existing methods of designing wage incentive plans require sophisticated time-study methods to establish the motivated productivity level and do not permit estimates of mean wage rates and cost per piece. An alternative method is presented which avoids these shortcomings by using the mean and standard deviation of the work-rate distribution.
